Meet Baby fancy mice

Baby fancy mice looking for their forever homes! Currently located in Howell, NJ

I am helping a family out with a few “oops” litters of baby mice. They purchased a few pet mice from a local petco, and they were sexed incorrectly and they ended up with lots of babies. I feel like a broken record when I repeat this story all the time… pet stores need to do better and educate their employees and their customers about how to properly sex and separate the rodents that they sell!!

These girls are now a few weeks old and will be ready for new homes in about a week. We have 11 currently and ideally would like to keep them in trios or small groups, as female mice thrive when they are kept together! Rest assured they will be triple checked to make sure they are all females before they go to their new homes.

Fancy mice are unique, curious little creatures and are definitely entertaining to watch! They are always very busy making new tunnels and nests in their enclosures. These babies are really young so they’re still pretty jumpy, but with patients some can be hand tame.
